Hi Jeff,

They asked a panel to select which five seed would most likely go down in the first round. The overwhelming choice was UConn to BYU.

Poppycock!!!

The first #5 seeded team out should be either Notre Dame or Mississippi State. The Irish won't best Illinois presuming that they win their first game. Mississippi State has two tough games in Butler and Louisville.

Even though they're probably one of the most youthful teams in the tournament, UConn is easily better than both BYU and Stanford. The Huskie's loss to Pittsburgh in the Big East finals should make them sharp enough to survive to the Sweet Sixteen.

The final #5 seed is Wisconsin, and they should easily glide past both Weber State and the winner of the Dayton/Tulsa match-up.

UConn looks like the strongest #5 seed to me, not the weakest.

The #6 seed is where the competition is stronger. Creighton, Missouri and Maryland all look extremely tough at #6. Only Oklahoma State looks like a weak sister there.

Hi Jeff,

How are your picks going?

I'm having a fairly easy time as most of these games seem to be no-brainers. But I have hit a bump in the road, so to speak, and need your opinion.

I have Austin Peay and East Tennessee State meeting in the Elite 8, and I just can't choose between them. They seem to be evenly matched. Any thoughts?

There is no way UCONN loses to BYU - ok, anything can happen but i think UCONN is actually a good "sleeper" pick

goin to Vegas in a few hours - who should i bet on vs spread?
