OT--I hadn't been keeping up with the moon. It is wonderful to not be over there and to just tune into the war occasionally on TV when I feel like it.

I was in Desert Storm--a medical unit in the second wave of the invasion. Went about 200 miles up into western Iraq and set up in a hospital for six days. It's much better on TV.

There are no clouds over there. In moonlight you can easily read a newspaper. The brightness of moonlight is incredible to westerners who are used to polluted air and urban background lights. It is easy to drive a car with no lights at midnight over there.
