i completely disagree with you.

first of all, continued inspections is not "doing nothing." if Bush thought we'd lose 5,000 troops, he'd be fine with continuing to impose UN inspections for a lot longer.

Wars are won, and avoided, when one side reaches their maximum tolerance for pain. clearly, Saddam's tolerance for pain is extremely high -- that bastard will sacrifice his entire country and everyone in it. At the opposite end stands the US, we're ok losing a few predator drones ands spending billions on a war effort, but our tolerance for loss of life is infinitesimal.
