Boy, 14, forced to marry 12-year-old for teasing her

A 14-year-old boy caught teasing a 12-year-old girl in India has been forced to marry her.

Villagers and leaders of the local communist party forced Pradeep Paswan to marry Hemlata Kumari.

Hemlata's parents were initially unwilling to give her away in marriage, reports the Hindustan Times.

But they finally bowed down to pressure from community leaders at Birne village, near Dhanbad, in Jharkhand.

Villagers, including Communist Party of India leader Gurudev Yadav, handed over £65 to the boy to help them "set up a home".
