All speculation. You don't know. The CIA can't come up with any evidence despite huge pressure from Bushies to find something-anything, and it's irreponsible to say one way or another.

It's entirely possible Saddam has absolutely nothing to do with Al Qaida at all, and that they despise each other. They would certainly have their reasons. The only thing they have in common is hating the US and Israel. But that's not necessarily enough to get them to team up on anything. Saddam hates Iran too, remember. All Arab types are not in league with each other. A lot of Americans assume that but it's anything but true. They do nothing but argue at Arab League summits. They're very tribal and it goes a long way back.

Doesn't matter now though, the war will begin any day and no one can stop it or make it anything it isn't. We'll just see what happens. The only thing we DO know its that Saddam is a creep and Bush is going in unilaterally. But now Bush doesn't even matter, only our military does.

Expect major support for the war now despite whether or not Bush did anything right or wrong. It's irrelevant. We support our troops. That's all that matters for now. And even if Bush gets 80% approvals in a few weeks they will disapear by 2004 just like his father's did. Becamse in the end it will again be the economy. Unless Bush has the nerve to start another war in 2004, which could only be North Korea, a dreadful thought. Experts do not think Bush will attack Iran because of the growing power of moderates there.
