Deregulation, as administered by that famous 'liberal' Pete Wilson, did us in. Add to that crazy legislature a Federal Gov that won't stop the crime while it was in action. You may laugh, but there were a lot of elderly people who were financially devastated by the dual whammy of skyrocketing energy bills and the collapse of 'safe dividend' stocks like PG&E. All brought to you by energy bandits and their Texas buddies.

Same with gas. Down the street, it is $2.30/gallon. Again, price collusion by companies that have no fear of federal action to stop their thievery.

The Texas Bushies ripped California for 20 billion. And they're criminals, not unsuspecting officials. You can blame Grey Davis for half the problem but not all of it. And most states have similar huge deficits now (when you subtract the energy gougings) including GOP Texas. 10 bilion deficits with Bush-Cheney-Delay in power and high oil prices. How to you explain that?
