Yup. Showing respect for our Allies is in the longterm interests of the US. The uberhawks have missed the boat.

Probably would have needed to knock out Saddam anyway, but what was the point in pissing on our allies in the process?

A unified UNSC(with France at worst isolated & at best on our side)would have been a far more powerful sign to Hussein. I don't think he was changing his tune anyway, but the world would have been better off unified than not. Korea, Iran & the terror will take coalitions to solve.
