If I trash your garden, break in to your house, smash up the furniture, disconnect all the utilities, kill one or two of your children and burn the roof... would it be fair if I offered to sell some of your stamp collection to help pay for repairs?

Wow, I get your point. Saddam really did treat those Kurds poorly.

<g>

TS, the context of my comment you are referring to dealt
solely with the economic argument. Maybe you weren't
following along.

Anyhow, what if it was Manson's house?
Or if Ted Bundy lived in an the same condo building as me?
Or a terrible, evil, drug dealer...
I might be willing to chip in for repairs if they broke his
door down and made a mess. I'd also be happy to see the
recovered money do toward new flowers in the garden and a
fresh coat of paint. <g>

Just musing. I'm not very serious about this argument.

I get your point.
I also see the other side.

I'd find it less nerve wracking perhaps if I didn't live on
the bullseye. It's sort of like it's easier for people
who live oceans away from Isreal to condemn their efforts
of providing safety to their people.

Part of me says we need to do something before these WMD
get out to the terrorists.

The other part says if we go in there the US will become
much like Isreal.

Then the third part of me questions whether or not it will
happen anyway like it did on 9/11.

The fourth part of me is at the bar having a beer and
watching the ball game.

I'm a rather complex fellow. <g>

Better yet, you will sell his stamp collection to pay for your own expenses - wear & tear on your baseball bat with which you smashed the furniture, the gas & other flammable stuff you used to burn his roof, etc.
