colin powell just spoke of "one of the permanent members" of the security council's refusal to work with the security council to draft wording for any further UN resolution..

i think he meant france....

Hi jla,
I don't have any doubt that Chirac is, in part, attempting to flex some muscle within Europe as an attempt to counterbalance the US's prominence. on that we agree.
But I think boycotts of French products are misplaced energy at this juncture (do I sound like Senior here? -g).
I'd rather keep the focus on what we're about to do in Iraq, the safety of our troops, of as mant Iraqi civilians as possible, and on plans to rebuild Iraq that can be found acceptable to the world at large.
