Bushies dont publicize their pleasure with high oil prices, but use your common sense. If you've ever lived in Texas you know what high oil prices mean. What's good for Texas is not good for the rest of the country. They're also obsessed wioth drilling in places like ANWAR. They can only do this with higher oil prices. They are also anti-fuel efficiency. They want us to use more. Waste more. This also drives up prices. So do wars in the middle east and (if you believe the rumors) CIA plots to destablize the Venezuelan government they dont like.

Dick Cheney, who some say is the brains behind Bush and pulls many of the strings, was CEO of Halliburton. Halliburton's wealth is very much based on high oil prices (as well as war). Ditto for James Baker the Bush family counsel who runs Carlyle Group and Reliant, both "reliant" on high fuel prices and war. Bush Sr. has stakes in these and Chevron. Enron was the other big Bush partner. You know their story. Deliberate gouging by taking over the system and making sure not even the government understands it.

These along with pollution are the three evils that fuel the Bush-Cheney ticket in many ways that are not something they'd want to publicize. To get a better measure, talk to people in the oil and weapons industry. Talk to public officials who know but can't say it publicly. Talk to anyone in the know in Houston.

Weapons, oil and pollution related companies are the chief ones who have been rewarded by the Bush-Cheney economy. Like they say in Texas "you go home with the one who brought you to the dance". Bush-Cheney are loyal to their financial base. This also includes timber companies, HMO's and tobacco companies, along with the religious right.
