Bush is acting irresponsibly because he has no experience losing loved ones early. It matters little to him that the main victims of his war are Iraqi children who can't get out of the way and who are most prone to starvation, disease, etc. They will die before their time has come. Bush has led a protected life, and no tragedy or hardship, family, financial, or otherwise, has been allowed to color his experience. To say he's out of touch is an understatement.
