In my view, the more threads the better are opportunities for expression. EIMS, please do consider that I've been petitioned by not just a few folks, but a lot of folks, to get the obnoxious behavior off the board. Wanting to keep the forum an open one, I resisted. Next thing I began reading about Saddam's butt, enthnic slurs and insults, obsessive-compulsive posting patterns and the supposed queers of war, etc. That element of the debate was no debate at all, but something quite different. And please do consider that I'm not moderating anyone off the new thread; they, in effect, should this happen, get moderated off the thread because of their inconsideration toward others.
