Bushies were the premier lobbyists for Enron and vice versa. Bush and Enron were almost synonymous up until 2002.

Enron gave Bush millions over the course of his career, the most money a corporation has ever given a candidate, and even ran a Bush camopaign operation out of the Enron offices. Bushies had free use of Enron private jets, lavish parties were thrown for Bushbies by Enron including the innauguration, and Ken Lay was reportedly Bush's first choice for Treasury Secretary.

Worst of all, as Bush was nominated so began the Enron-run phony energy crisis. Coinciding with the election, it was a massive collusion by the energy business using the Enron designed model of fraud, falsifying shortages, energy trades and involving major names in the Bush inner circle, including Ken Lay himself of course.

The Bush governor's office was a tit-for-tat lobbying force for the Enron interests in DC. Clintonites, not understanding what was going on (because who did but the Big Energy experts themselves?) did treat Enron as they would any other major company whose credibility had not yet been besmirched. Enron even made donations to some Democrats, including $250,000 to Joe Lieberman, as he sat on the Energy Commission in the Senate. Lieberman must reget the day he took that money now, but in those days soft money was king and Enron was the king of soft money.

As Bush took power the fraudulent energy gougings reached their peak. Certainly Bush-Cheney as former oilmen, and best friends with Ken Lay, especially Cheney THE expert on the subject and james Baker the head of Enron-like Reliant, knew exactly what was going on, yet they covered-up and blamed the gougings instead on "free market forces".

Cheney would have known there was no real energy shortage, but instead he told Americans we needed 1300 new power plkants ASAP, to be build by his Halliburton and Duke Energy cronies. This he wanted tax-payers to foot the bill for, and it would have been worth tens of billions to those companies. Meanwhile, California alone was gouged for 20 billion in excessive charges, but nationall the figure approached 100 billion and internationally a lot more.

The entire energy crisis was a massive fraud. It was engineered to coincide with Enron and Houston's oil ticket rising to power. It gave Bush-Cheney a phnoy issue they could use against Gore. Remember they prom, ised to "fix" the crisis? And it poured billions into Bushie pockets. It also helped push the US into recession.

Even now that the truth is known, that Enron and others including James Baker's Reliant, literally stole tens of billions from consumers, the Bush Administration has eben silent on the issues. Their FERC cronies will not cooperate with investigations. They hide evidence. Millions of documents have been shredded and executives have refused to speak, even taking the 5th in front of Congress. Futher, Cheney was ordered to hand over his energy papers which would have proven collusion and cooperation within Big Energy to dfan the flamesa of the energy crisis. Cheney stone-walled the judges and after November's election they intimidated the GOA into not proceeding.

By the way, the energy crisis ended the day after Jeffords switched parties and gave Democrats subpoena powers in the Senate. Days after that it was announced there was a massive energy surplus in America, which completely contradicted what Bush-Cheney and their people had been telling us. Enron also spent 5 million on TV disinformation ads trying to blame the crimes on Grey Davis and Clinton.

The biggest ever ripoff of the American people? Yes indeed. And they all got away with it. Not a single day in jail.
