In all fairness, the makeup, managements and operations of the RTs today is changing from what it was so many years ago.

----- CHECK and I were discussing the oil and gas trusts. What is it that these do? They take the oil and gas out of the ground. They sell that oil and gas. And they pass the majority of that income from that sale onto the unitholders. JUST HOW HAS THAT CHANGED???????? IT HASNT!!!!!!!!. What your talking about are superficial changes that have very little affect on that base as I have described it. So in fairness. And to further the discussion. Please show by reference to your sources or the actual data that would help to confirm what it is you are saying. I just looked at a 12 year ago annual report for ERF and then I looked at the most recent one. I dont see any major differences. For the most part they are still using the same reporting financials. -------

Basing your investing decisions on the past is not necessarily a formula for all to follow. Jmho.

---- Lets see what we have for data to look at. We have oil and gas trusts that have been around for 17 years. These have been doing the same thing throughout as now - take out of ground, sell, pass that income onto unitholders. Now someone comes along and says look at this 5 year data. I know there is 12 more years also out there but I am too lazy or too incompetent to get it and see what it says. The past is really pretty much all we have to go on. These point in time forecasts that people (CHECK) like to do. Take a snapshot of what a trust has and is doing. Then they say given that and the trust doing nothing because we dont have numbers for that. This is what is going to happen. Well the trust doesnt operate that way. They dont just DO nothing. They are always doing something and going to do something (theyve done that in the past) . Thats part of the buisness. Ignoring that is why the majority of forecasts are always WRONG. So as I told CHECK you can base your investing on that if you want. Then your doomed to failure. Pure and simple. ------- ------------
