wealthy beneficiaries of shady accounting like John Doerr

do you think that will be how he is remembered on his tombstone?

I don't- I think people will remember Doerr for the companies he helped create (incl Amazon- my favorite) which helped rejuvenate the US economy from a 20 year funk.

I remember in 1989 or so, an article in Fortune "100 things the USA does best". Amazingly, at that time, it was widely believed we were on a declining path only to be eclipsed by Japan Inc. and the asian tigers.

OT ... Huey, re " ... wealthy beneficiaries of [edit: stock options] will descend upon the pols in Washington again with bag fulls of money ... "

Agreed. At present, sides are still being chosen and battle plans are being drawn. It's depressing to think this battle could again last 2 years.

Sigh! I may find two years of option FUD intolerable.
