What I think could happen is a lot different than advocating what should happen.

But as to your question of UN intervention? I think the simpler route, rather than a UN military intervention of US intentions, would be for the General Assembly to pass an emergency resolution condemning this war, and formally declaring any such war as a violation of international law in the absense of UN Security Council support.
