I hear another irrevelant UN speech getting ready to rear its ugly head.

Do you think that people in NYC have some kind of affection for the UN? It's just there, nobody really pays any attention to it, unless they have some kind of brouhaha and start closing the streets and avenues around it.

Actually, I was looking forward to the coverage of the U.N.-established Conference on Disarmament, their next session May, which was supposed to be chaired by Iraq. I can see the tabloids having a field day with it.

Also, Libya presiding over the Commission on Human Rights should be a blast. So maybe the UN is providing some value to the host city after all - entertainment value.
