Syria is hiding Iraqi weapons (mobile bio-weapons labs, etc.), while Iran stands to be the big winner from a war... so they are happy to let us eliminate their long-term rival.

Since Shia are actually a majority in Iraq - and have long been supressed - any introduction of 'democracy' stands to move more power into their hands... and benefit their co-religionists in Iran.

I notice the retoric from the Syrian President. He really is a terrorist in my book. But if you look at the map, Iraq sits between the two and if we go into Bahgdad we could be easy targets for the Syrian air force.JMHO
