I know how unpopular our President is, with most of my friends here on SI. (not with my friends at home though....wonder if that has anything to do with the anonymity of the internet...) ...and until now, I have been reluctant to speak out here on SI. (other places I have not) This makes me sad......I have enjoyed their friendship and I hope it continues........... .......but, I voted for Bush ......and I REALLY DO believe he is doing what is right, under the most HORRIFIC, circumstances I could have ever possibly imagined. IMHO, he was handed the stick of a doomed economy.........then.....The US was attacked........with unprecedented proportions........and now some of the OBVIOUS BS being spread by others, against our President and administration, at a time of WAR???? Yes, some of it IS BS.....it's so obvious.......and that's just wrong!!!! 911 meant war to me. How could it not????? My wife and I often think back to that day, and how we felt. (We think also of Clappy's posts that day, and the days following.........to be so close to the horror....Clappy has a way with his words......) ....and we think about what our President said not long after........ "You are either with us or against us".... cnn.com "A coalition partner must do more than just express sympathy, a coalition partner must perform. That means different things for different nations. Some nations don't want to contribute troops and we understand that. Other nations can contribute intelligence-sharing. ... But all nations, if they want to fight terror, must do something." How soon some seem to forget. I believe we know now who wants to fight, and who doesn't...and I believe we know now, why. Like I've said before, I'm just an average "Joe 6 pack". I could never, ever, know fully, absolutely without a doubt, that the war I was following my President into, was just. Who ever does? There is just too much misinformation out there. Throughout history, men and women have followed their government into war, not REALLY knowing what the truth was. IMHO, they had to trust their government. Only history would prove one right or wrong. The only absolute proof I'll ever get to see, is the choking to death of my family......the bullet through my chest....or that brilliant flash of light........and then it's too late.......like 911 was too late for many....... Do we make mistakes? Yes...who doesn't? But, at times of war, I trust my government. I have too. God help us, if were wrong....but I don't think we are. :o| Dalin
