Symbolic but meaningful - March 17, 2003 Poland to Commit Troops in War With Iraq
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

WARSAW, Poland (AP) -- Poland would send up to 200 soldiers to take part in a U.S.-led war with Iraq, President Aleksander Kwasniewski announced Monday.

``We are ready to use a Polish contingent in the international coalition to contribute to making Iraq comply with the U.N. resolutions,'' Kwasniewski said.

``It's a difficult decision but necessary.''

The decision allows a contingent of several hundred Polish troops to deploy to the Gulf region from March 19 until Sept. 15.

Poland backs Washington's tough line on Iraq and was among eight European countries that signed a letter pledging solidarity with the United States in its efforts to disarm Saddam Hussein.

Must be a new bull market. Look at a FEW (there are many. many more) of the quality, worthy companies at 52-week highs. All of these surely have rock-solid businesses that justify 100+ PEs or NO PEs at all. The near-term future growth must be outstanding. This economy must be on rocket fuel (financed at low interest rates, of course).

Amazon DOT com up 43% this year -- +116% from low

Copper Mountain Networks up 51% this year -- almost tripled from low

Concur Technologies up 51% this year -- almost tripled from low

Dish Network up 33% this year -- +over 100%% from low

Drugstore DOT com up 78% this year -- almost tripled from low

EBAY up 29% this year -- getting near a double from low

Marvel Enterprises up 50% this year -- more than tripled from low

YHOO up 35% this year -- more than 200% from low

I remain,

SOROS

I see housing starts took a hit.
>>Housing starts fell 11% in February to annual rate of 1.62 million.<<

I'm more interested in sales of existing homes.

I'm bullish on Oracle, btw
