I have enjoyed reading this thread from time to time, especially some of the articles.
In reference to the rapture, I struggled with the same issues. The Lord has graciously filled in the blanks for me and He did it by leading me through the prophetic fulfillment by Christ of the feasts of Israel. I don't claim to have all the answers, just thought I would share where the Lord directed me. I highly recommend everyone that is seeking to study that aspect of scripture closely. I found alot of questions answered there.

You keep speaking of an "Ark". IMO, Christ is the "Ark" and every Christian's life is hidden with Him in God.

Colossians 3:3
For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

Ephesians 2:6
And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,

It is in Christ that we are saved. Will we escape the tribulation? Maybe. However, suffering is a tool God uses to sharpen us. 1 Pet 4:1,2

I agree with you that escaping the tribulation will be wonderful, but perhaps suffering with the saints for a time will bring about the greatest of gifts from God our Father.
