An opportunist is mostly an opportunist, especially in 2-party systems and media.
Both fairly similarly frustrating and just two major labeling machines available.

Exactly, many formerly liberal New Yorkers converted that day. This fits the definition of a liberal though - someone who can't conceive the inconceivable until it's too late.
