Yes, I think a lot of people against the war understand that Saddam is a pestilence.

What we share are reservations about the motivations of our government. Our puppets have also perpetrated atrocities. Remember Pinochet in Chile and the Shah of Iran.

I'm not for this war but I'll be damn glad to see Saddam gone. I'm not entirely sure that I am right to oppose the war, however only a fool could be perfectly sure of their position on this one. Time will tell. But I am sure of one thing: there will be lots of right wing apologists for Bush no matter what happens. There are still apologists for Hitler, sadly enough.

I haven't forgotten the stuff my government has done either. I'm also old enough to remember the Mia Li massacre and the attempt to cover it up. That was obviously the tip of the iceberg.

Many right wingers seem to have the ability to ignore our history. Once in awhile I do, however, talk to right wingers who will admit the truth and admit they may be wrong. These are the types who are persuasive. You really have to be an idiot to think we haven't made these kinds of mistakes too. Cheer leaders aren't known for their keen intellects on high school campuses.

BTW, I'm neither left nor right. I'm a pragmatist.

The democrats have their hands on your wallet, the republicans have their hands down your pants.

"There ain't a dime's worth of difference between the democrats and the republicans."
