I'm sure you know better than I do Unclewest.

The "perception" in my neck of the woods is that Hussein is as good as gone, surprise or no surprise. But we appear to be going with the "Invasion Light" approach and if he can delay the inevitable for a week or more whether by fire, flood or bio-chemicals, we are going to get whacked unmercifully on the diplomatic front.

Then too, if he can find a way to get Israel involved, the whole thing will have become, well,... the "Hole Thing."

I don't think I would want to be President. ...I don't think anyone else would want it much either. <vbg>

Tactical surprise? Let's see, we once practiced operational security but now, we have given them the Order of Battle, the Axis of Advance, the weather and climate advantage, the shrill encouragement of leftist public opinion, the time to deploy and redeploy their defenses, time to murder any dissenters close to the throne, the time for all wobbly knees to go wobbly [Maggie would not have to preach to THIS George Bush!], and a real-time internal view of our operations via a cadre of a hundreds of "embedded" journalists with satellite feeds, including Al Jezera.

Unc, this ain't exactly the environment this old combat engineer would be enthused about when crossing the line of departure....jj
