I just discovered that Oprah is now having a good discussion with the Middle East experts Tom Friedman and professor Fawaz A. Gerges from Sarah Lawrence College...fyi...

Michael Moore is coming up next and may comment on 'a silent American Foreign Policy'...I don't normally watch Oprah but was just channel surfing and it caught my attention...I'm going to keep it on as I respond to morning emails.

Some folks are asking tough questions.

My prediction: large-scale, organized opposition will be over within two, maybe three, days...

Actually FL, you can pretty much gloss over anything I write of less than 6 lines too. <Hoo>

I don't have a clue about conducting a shooting war of any sort. But if I were Saddam and trying to play "Joe Stalin II," I'd be trying to do my damage before the attack came.

...Then I'd take a pill.<g>

Hi FaultLine; Re: "My prediction: large-scale, organized opposition will be over within two, maybe three, days..."

You were wrong.

The fundamental problem is that the Arabs are as stupid as you are. That is, they are so stupid that they don't know that you have the intention of helping them. Instead, they think that you are after their oil.

Perhaps you should contemplate the fact that the Arabs regularly tie explosives to their teenagers and send them against civilian targets in Israel. Perhaps it would be worthwhile to note that the US is pretty much the sole support for Israel. That the most popular thing Saddam does in Iraq is giving money to the families of Palestinians who have blown themselves up.

Hell, probably 25% of the US population believes that this is a war over oil. The percentage of the Iraqi population is undoubtedly higher.

Since when what took the US 4 to 5 years to accomplish 60 years ago, should be done in 4 to 5 days and 1 for a 1000 casualties; or otherwise considered as a non success etc ?
