All of those "French" companies employ thousands of Americans and shareholders are Americans too.

And our multi-nationals employ thousands of French people.
The French could retaliate easily boycotting McDonalds, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Euro Disney, American high tech, music and movies, etc. etc This is not what anyone needs and I'm afraid I've lost respect for Bill O'Reilly making this such a big deal. he really sounds immature.

The global economy is too inter-twined to boycott a major economic ally without hurting ourselves just as much. It's silly anyway. If what you say is true about France hurting for oil now, that's real punishment. And as I've said all along, this IS a war over oil. Behind the scenes and from the beginning OIL has been the #1 factor behind Bushies Iraq fixation. Yes there are other good reasons but OIL is king.
