As you are well aware, this thread is about investment in Gorillas and Kings. If you believe they are poor investments, then indeed you should look at other threads for ideas.

Hmmm... I have it on pretty good authority that this thread is NOT about "investment", but about "Gorillas and Kings" themselves. 'Course, that could have been one amongst many words of wisdom issued in the midst of a senior moment... dunno. I'm just goin' by what I've been told.

Originally I had the same idea as you. Figuring that it's kind of pointless discussing candidates for investment if the value as an investment doesn't factor into candidacy... But then, if it's about investment, then whether a company is a gorilla or a gorwilla or a reindeer is, um, tangential. Kind of like how the study of taxonomy is tangential to "what's for dinner".

I believe that there are good companies that are poor investments. And good companies that are good investments. The difference being the price. As you suggest.

Gorillaness is one aspect of goodness. But goodness knows that goodness itself makes a lousy investment criteria.
