It harms us as well.

If you remember my friend Grace (the one who lives in Denmark now), she grew up on a farm in Missouri and her father used DDT. In her family of eight children, only two seem to be fertile and 3 of the 4 children from the fertile parents had serious birth defects.

DDT was killing birds because it was making their egg shells too soft. I think it is toxic to fish too. I don't know if it has any adverse effects to humans, but I would rather not be exposed to it. Plus, I don't want to buy products from people who do use it because it is harmful to the environment.

Also, it seems a bit hypocritical to me for us to say it's not ok to use the chemical, but companies can make money selling to us by operating where environmental laws are less strict. It seems we force our corporations to other countries by not having any teeth in laws like that.
