Yes, as long as we put safeguards in place so that the house of cards never falls down.

You're kidding, right? By definition, a "Ponzi" scheme (which is an apt description) will ALWAYS reach a point where it can no longer support itself. It doesn't matter WHAT you do, this kind of "safeguard" is not practical.

I assume you're not studying to be an actuary ...

Z, <In its present state, no, but I think potentially, yes.>

I think this statement alone illustrates the fundamental flaw in your thinking. You are placing your faith in a socialist system that could only work if we "give it another chance." Most liberals are like this. Most liberals are wrong.

I hope one day you realize that such a socialist system is only practical at the community level, not the federal level. That is why donating to a local charity (or a national charity that works on the local level) will ALWAYS be better than donating to some federal handout program.

Z,

>Do you believe in funding a Ponzi scheme that takes from the young and gives to the old, contrary to what they teach you in school?

Yes, as long as we put safeguards in place so that the house of cards never falls down.

Well, you will have to do your part to achieve those safeguards. You need to have 3 or 4 children, and you will have to agree that you will not live more than about 71 years. Of course, everyone else will have to agree to this. Good enough safeguard for you?

Joe
