I edited that post at the end, I think you are saying that unprofitable companies should be allowed to IPO again, which is a very dangerous precedent.

Right now no firm will try to take an unprofitable company public. I was thinking that was a good thing.

Now its sounding like, since virtually every new company will be unprofitable with options expensing, then unprofitable company IPOs are ok. Come on this is a bad idea. And I've been told that options expenses are real expenses so we shouldn't say that Google is better than another pets.com just because their expenses are pure options.

Somebody needs to think this stuff through, I'm sure these are the kinds of arguments the tech lobby will make. Unprofitable IPOs are NOT a good idea.
