Yes, USA is putting a lot of pressure on the "new Europe" who after a lot of pressure "decided
to join NATO", to buy weapons, fighters, etc from USA, but also the promise that USA would buy
something from them.

That is, the european ones, about to join EU, are put through a "learning experience" they were
warned of when eager to join NATO to get some trade going, trading imported weapons for
domestically produced goods.

Some of them has already gone through a "NATO learning experience" in terms of the cost of
those weapons as many have severe problems in terms of state-budgets, taxes, unemployment
and inefficient farming, industries.

Funny thing that USA came up with the idea to "pressure EU" for a faster approval of Turkey,
although Turkey still is in the stage where Turkey must do their own domestic reforms to
continue to the next stage of the approval process. (major issue, the "Kurds")

However, few of these small nations, just released from the tyranny of the Sovjet, can afford
going publicly against USA, especially in terms of trade and figuring out how to pay
the weapons NATO demands.

The future will tell...
