China MII: Wang In Wu Out From ChinNex >> Wang Xudong has been appointed as the new MII minister by the State Council and confirmed by the ceremonial National People's Congress. Wang's appointment has ended the legacy of Wu Jichuan who was in the top regulator's seat for nearly a decade. Compared to his predecessor, Wang, 57, is an "outsider" with little industry experience (this may well have been his best "credential" in the eye of government), most of his career was Communist Party work. Analysts say Wang will create a different leadership style with more tolerance and less hands-on. We'd wait and see. << - Eric -
