Actually, had we got a stronger recession in the 1990's, we would have been better off now. As things turned out, all the flaws were papered over and disaster was "averted". Now things are in a total mess. Frankly, I am praying for a repeat of 1990's Japan here, because that would be too mild compared to what we could actually get because of the mess that we have gotten into here.
