OT 04 re <times are too perilous to risk having a Democrat as President>

But I think it is the NeoCons who are the Utopians, the Idealists with dangerous impractical solutions, who don't see the world as it is.

Times are too perilous to risk having a NeoCon as President. I don't insist on a Democrat. I'd settle for a Realist, like the SecOfState. I'd even settle for Bush, if he would start listening to Powell. Anything but a NeoCon.

It was common among Vietnam vets who protested the war to throw their ribbons & keep the medals.

I have to agree-The Democratic party will have to put up a non-wimp to have any chance: But I don't consider Kerry, Clark, Lieberman, Gephardt wimps.

The Republicans are very vulnerable to an attack from the center(or even to the right of center!). The Neocons have pulled the Republican party so far to the right that everyday Republicans & swingvoters are becoming disaffected.
