Bert:

I haven't read either of Huxleys books but am aware of course of the first. I'll put them both on my reading list.

I'm currently three quarters of the way through an unauthorized biography of George Bush by Tarpley and Chaitkin (http://www.tarpley.net/bushb.htm). I wanted to know a bit more about the family background. It's obviously by someone who doesn't like him and I may not finish it and look for something a bit more middle of the road. At my elbow as I type is Con Coughlin's "Saddam King of Terror" which I have yet to start.

On the Carlyle Group there's an interesting piece for anyone who doesn't know them here: prorev.com

If you want to give someone indigestion at a dinner party who is getting a bit too enthusiastic about sending someone else's kids off to war... ask them which way the wind blows where they live. Assuming they live close to a city, most seem to. When they ask why... say you were online discussing what effect a suitcase nuke in the city would have on real estate prices in the suburbs.

Didn't think of it until I was half way home.

T.
