<<...Methinks the Brits will shortly have a new government...>>

Rat: Last week I attended a meeting sponsored by The Chicago Council on Foreign Relations -- the President of The Brookings Institution (Strobe Talbott) gave a fantastic lecture on U.S. foreign policy and empire building...He is very concerned about rushing into war without strong support from all our major allies as well as from the United Nations...We have antagonized so many allies in the last few months -- many of them felt we were arrogant and unwilling to listen to their views and concerns. Anyway the speaker last week predicted that there is a very high probability that Tony Blair could be a casualty of this war with Iraq (and be out of power within 6 weeks)...It all comes down to how the war goes -- and how the Middle East responds...Blair and Bush are betting their political futures on the success of this war....Its a high stakes gamble.
