... well i remember that, it was when that night in Kabul there were explosions and visible rocket fire happening, it was on cbc television to which we were all glued of course, and i even recall the name of the freelance journalist on camera, Brown [first name Matthew?], a brit who is often on bbc as well

When those explosions happened there was immediate speculation as to who fired the rockets, and US cruise missiles were among the possibilities, this fellow Brown mentioned that they had been suspected by others but doubted it himself, then explained why he doubted it ..... but some other news sources were much wilder with the speculation, and i recall hearing that they had been reported as from US origin ... turned out they weren't of course, just some warlord letting loose
