Sun-- My point was that the generalization was provocative and false. Back to "Constantine's Sword". What you are saying, the Christianity absorbed the beliefs of the pagans is accurate. It is, however, not incompatible with the need of this early religion to become distinct from Judiaism. Therefore, came the distortion of Judiaism as the official Church policy for 2,000 years. Carroll's book is well worth reading. His claim is that the teachings of the Church defected from the teachings of Jesus. fred
