Chirac may ultimately be more vulnerable than blair. Who knows?

I think you're right.. What's amusing is that why the world tries to claim that Bush has "spent" the goodwill America received after 9/11, the real reality is that Chirac has been revealed as a EU "dominar", attempting to quash dissent to any views differing from his related to Iraq.

But now we find Bush has succeeded in isolating France (and to an extent, Germany) on their own continent. Europe is divided because of the intransigence and intolerance for the views of other EU members (and potential members). And while many leaders have had to walk on eggs in order to avoid being singled out by France and Germany and isolated in the EU (or denied entry), they are still quietly supporting Bush over Chirac and Schroeder...

This a major embarassment for Chirac and can only degrade French influence in how the EU ultimately develops..
