OTOTOT Errrrr... Reagan defeated carter in 1980, not 1982.

I honestly don't see a lot of similarities between Bush II and Carter.

OK... ok... 80, 80 NOT 82. Whats a couple of years in the disco era between friends <gg>. Or maybe 82 wasn't disco still? I seem to remember Michael Jackson then.

My problem is I didn't vote at the time... but for those that do remember, wasn't Carter considered a foreign policy disaster of sorts wrt the iraq/iran region? Not the palestinian effort, I know Carter was successful there. But with iran/iraq he was a disaster, no? Thats how I thought he and Bush were similar. Also Carter looked beat up towards the end and that was how Bush looked to me.

Then in the election people wanted a change and Reagan was pretty much swept in, was he not? I'm certain Kerry or whomever will be a sweep on the west coast. But there's that dreaded rest of the country we have to worry about! <gg>

There is one brit besides Tony Blair who seems to be on the side of the president.... Simon Cowell on American Idol.
