You might ask the Afghanistans, or Kuwaitis, or Kosovars, or Japanese, or Germans, or South Koreans how they feel about long term presence of US forces in their countries.

The world better hope that America will always stand for freedom and democracy, because it is America who has enabled many countries to be free right now.

If you are wary of a America's presence in Iraq, then you have not noticed or appreciated America's sacrifices for other nations.

But, perhaps, it would be better to hear about your concerns. Would you have rather Iraq had been taken over by the USSR?
