From what I know, it was the other way around, where the military declared military coups, because of the terrorist attacks, and then took awhile to give power back. It has been only recently, that the generals have relinquished power back to the civilians. However, you are right that Turkey would not be a good role model, and I withdraw my suggestion. I was thinking more of what Turkey is today, and not what it was 15 yrs ago.
