"At bottom, the New Iraq War is all about American companies making money for themselves and their investors"

That just about says it all. However, it can be added:

These very SAME companies (all friendly to the present administration, friendly to the point of being past AND FUTURE political contributors) will gain very profitable contracts. The cost of gaining those contracts will be borne by the US taxpayer, who will be told his freedom is being preserved, and the Iraqi people are being given democracy.
Win-win situation for everybody, right?

And that "pig-swill" will be lapped up by the TRUE-BELIEVER PATRIOTS, fearful dumb brutes who can be roused to a fury by a few words from their "string-pulling" leaders.

But they probably have enough of their wits left that they are going very long in the companies who will be the beneficiaries, so that they can have their snouts in the same profitable trough.....

Ah yes, CAPITALISM, DEMOCRACY, PATRIOTISM....

Is there anything greater?

If anybody says YES, just call them communist pinko queers with their heads up their too-much-used butts. If they get too troublesome, just nukem!

Are the French, Germans, Russians, Chinese fundamentally any different? No, not really. But maybe in this case their greed suggested that they not bite the hand that could potentially feed them. And maybe they are just a little apprehensive about igniting new waves of terrorism in THEIR countries. They probably think they have enough problems already.

Our approach is grab it and let it feed us. Justify it by partial truths, truths, lies, whatever. Who cares? If it is said often enough, people will believe it. Repeat 1000 times "WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION". The end justifies the means. Principles? Whaddayatalkingabout.....?

Namaste!

Jim

Good writing and makes very practical sense. If Saddam had not bitten the hands that fed him (made him what he is), he would not be in this predicament. I always thought he was one of US greatest puppy (raised and grown) but somehow Saddam learned to wonder off elsewhere and never learned the proper international business diplomacy.
