I could go with offering french language instruction for 2 years in HIGH SCHOOL May as well remove it entirely if that's you view because for many by then it is too late. Actually I'd agree the French instruction we have now is by and large a waste as little if any is retained (no one can even say Mario Lemieux properly for God's sake).

My older kid is in French immersion (the other's only 3) and even there she benefits over many by way of being able to converse with me in french (well OK I kinda force the issue). FWIW if I would have had the option to send her (them) to Chinese instead of French, or even Spanish that's where she'd be as I think they are both more useful going forward. For other languages we are limited to once a week 3 hour 'Heritage programs'.

Ya Ya I know I could always pay for language, then again I'm already paying for Kumon math program (it's great and keeps her ahead of the pack) and spending a lot of extra time anyway with my kids' educations otherwise because public schools are lacking severely in my view I won't pay private at elementary levels and yeah it's my job to do it, I know..
