Passenger jet grounded amid sickness scare>

Speaking of the bio-rat

A plane has been grounded at Glasgow airport after three passengers fell ill.

The British Midland jet was isolated at 6.30pm after arriving on the shuttle route from London Heathrow, a spokesman for airports authority BAA says.

A spokesman for bmi says a family of four were examined by doctors after they began vomiting during the flight.

The family flew from Karachi to Heathrow earlier today before boarding the shuttle service to Glasgow, which departed at 5.20pm.

The spokesman said: "As a matter of routine doctors were informed and went on board to see what the problem was."

All 134 passengers on the Airbus service were kept on board while medical staff made their way to the scene.

"As soon as the doctor says everything is all right they are free to go on their way," the spokesman said.

He adds it is too early to speculate whether the family is suffering from the new form of pneumonia known as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome.

He says the aircraft is being taken out of service and cleaned before being put back into service.

Unconfirmed reports suggest the family may have showed signs of being ill during the flight from Pakistan.
