Should the US have left Kuwait to fend for itself?

I supported the Gulf War at the time. Had it not been fought I can imagine several ways the world may have turned out differently. I would guess that the Wahabi would not have been as powerful and perhaps Bush the elder may have been reelected and the economic fortunes of the 1990s may not have come to pass.
