<< As if we haven't installed and supported our fair share of dictators and idiots. Shah of Iran, Pinochet, etc. yada yada yada >>

You want to paint this world with an easy to understand, simple brush.

In a lot of cases, we had to deal with what was available in those countries. Sometimes we took the best of two evils. In most cases, if we hadn't supported the choice at hand, the alternative could have been much worse.

Not that we haven't made mistakes, but I get disgusted by your normal naive notes, which only paints America as the bad guy, and has no concept for the complexities of working with backward, uneducated third world nations.

<< We act when it is in our economic interests to do so >>

Don't you? Do you go around, each day, wondering how you can screw yourself?

<< Including installing and supporting brutual regimes if necessary. >>

We could look at any example of America installing a brutal regime. We would need to examine if America thought that the guy would work out, or not. Who else was available? Was he the best choice, or the only choice? Why didn't he work out?

<< That is how the world really works. >>

Thanks for nothing.
