Coxie -

Not actually responding to you. Just wanted to provide this link to anyone who's interested in the question of how wide the blast radius of the MOAB is. This article refers to the BLU-82, aka the "Daisy Cutter", which is the second-largest Fuel/Air bomb in the U.S. arsenal.

washingtontimes.com

Highlights include the following:

"The Daisy Cutter has a lethal radius reported at from 300 to 900 feet, but there are no such estimates for the MOAB, although the area is believed to be significantly wider."

"The MOAB's explosive blast is so massive it is similar to a small nuclear weapon, although he damage is much less, the Pensacola News-Journal reported."

It appears that estimates of 250 feet are way off on the low end, and that 1 mile (5,280 feet) is way off on the high end.

Other sources around the Internet refer often to the Daisy Cutter as having a reported blast radius of 300 to 900 feet.

PS: News reports are coming in about Iraqi soldiers already surrendering, though the attack has not begun. That's a good thing, and I hope it happens on a massive scale.

I pray to God that this conflict will be brief, and that loss of life on both sides will be minimal.
