Ref < As for this inciting more terroist attacks. Maybe but ask youself what war incited 9/11? >

Desert Storm incited Al Qaida. The entry of Christian US troops into the "Holy Land of Saudi Arabia" was viewed as a sacrilege to Islam by Bin Laden. Perceived "US arrogance" by Moslems ( due to US insensitivity to the suffering of the Palestinians), led to the stream of Bin Laden followers. This culminated in 9/11, ten years later.

The US invasion of an Arab country will incite a lot more people. The number of volunteers for Al Qaida will increase dramatically. Luckily for US, Al Qaida is temporarily crippled and will not be able to train the new recruits now. However in a few years the number of terrorist attacks will increase dramatically.

Hi Jim, RE: "ask youself what war incited 9/11?"

I think that's a question we all ask. When 9/11 happened, we all wanted to know why and we wondered if we are safe.

I have a friend and a friend's brother who worked in the World Trade Center (in one of the twin towers that collapsed - he got out; and another next to the twins that collapsed), a relative that works around the block from WTC (falling debris almost knocked her out), close school friends and one of my investors in NY (all okay).

When 9/11 happened, I wanted to assess how safe we are. So I asked a wide mix of people for their opinions - some input from staunch Republicans, some Dems, some from other parties, some dovish some warriors, a former Green Beret, some wealthy contacts in Israeli and elsewhere, some from Asian countries, some from UK, some from other parts of the world, some from European countries that experienced no support during Hitler's attack, some Christians/Jews/Muslims, some grandchildren of a friend of Ghandi, some from countries where bin Laden has a history of attacking, some Profs, many business people, some investors, ceos, engineers/sales etc., someone high up in our gov't, some children of US Ambassadors, etc. and also read up on the topic - basically, a wide mix representing different opinions.

When our country was attacked, our safety was put into question. It's a question we all asked about. 3,000 people were murdered by terrorists.

I'll try to post some serious thoughts on your question later today or tomorrow.

Regards,
Amy J
