I think that stabilization would be in everyone's interest. Given that, would you be in favor of something that would certainly stabilize the entire region: Transport all Israelis to New Mexico or some appropriate new land. Today's Israel would become Palestine.

Of course not, you're probably saying. So, some change, even if it attains the desired goal, is bad.

I think Saddam must go, and should have gone in '91. The son is atoning for the father's unfinished work. However, the path and methods to the solution are sometimes as important as the actual solution. Our diplomatic efforts have made us seem both arrogant and weak, in the eyes of many. The long term effect of our resulting unilaterism will have a damaging effect for many years to come.

To those who say "screw the rest of the world", I say: you need to wake up and realize that we live in a global community now. Technology has brought both advantages and disadvantages. The people of the world are much more in tune with global events. We can no longer control what people see and hear. Diplomacy is even more important than in the past, and we now have a lot of catching up to do.
